Congratulations Laura on graduating with your Doctorates of Pharmacy. I had such a wonderful time with you on your shoot. Thank you also for a wonderful friendship. You definitely deserve this after all of your hard work and dedication. I also appreicate you taking the time to give me some details on exactly what a pharamicist does other than just count pills haha. I found it very interesting. Union Prom Sessions

What a fun evening I had with Tanner, Brooke, Adam, and Fallon at Mountain Rose Winery for their prom sessions. These 4 are a blast to be around and so much fun to work with. I couldn’t have asked for a better group to spend a Saturday evening with. Actually, putting all of us together makes it hard for anything to get accomplished due to the fact we’re always just acting like big kids haha. However, we did manage to capture some beautiful shots at this gorgeous venue. Thanks again guys for allowing me to be a part of your prom. You guys rock and I hope you had a blast!!! Can’t wait until we can all get together again to be “big kids”

J.I. Burton Prom Session

If there’s one thing I really enjoy about my job it would be the people I get to know and work with. No amount of money can replace friendships that are established. I’ve got to know these four over the past few years. I was excited when Meygan’s mom contacted me to set up a prom session for Aaron, Meygan, Alex, and Patience. I knew the four of us would have a blast together. The weather could’ve been a little better, but we made the best of it and didn’t let a little rain slow us down. Both of the young ladies looked beautiful and the two young men were looking just as handsome. Thanks again guys for allowing me to be a part of your prom. I had a wonderful evening with you and hope that all of you had an awesome time at prom.

Hannah M. {2012 Senior}

I normally do a consult with all of my clients at my studio, however since Hannah lived so far away we decided to do her consult via Skype. It didn’t take me long to realize that Hannah was just like me, someone who loves to have fun. I hadn’t been Skyping with Hannah and her mom very long before she started picking on me. Although, I dished a little back her way too. I knew Hannah was going to be a blast to work with just by picking up her awesome personality during this consult.

A couple weeks ago I met up with Hannah and her mom for her senior session. We had the time of our life the entire shoot. Between capturing some amazing shots, laughing, venturing up on the roof at the studio, and jamming out on the drums it was an energetic evening. Speaking of the roof, it’s not the easiest of access. However, when I showed Hannah she quickly said she was game. She actually might have been a little more braver than I was ha.

I couldn’t have asked for a better evening. To spend the afternoon with such a wonderful family and make new friends can’t be replaced. Thanks again Hannah for allowing me to be a part of your senior year. I had so much fun with you and your mom. Keep shining and go after all the goals and dreams you have set. I wish you the best of luck as you’re about to begin a new chapter in your life. Please let me know if there’s ever anything I can do for you. God Bless!!!

Katie S. {2012 Senior}

I remember when Katie and her mom came over for her consultation. As soon as I met them I recognized what an amazing personality Katie has. I knew that she was going to be a lot of fun to work with. We originally had her session scheduled for a couple months ago but ended up getting rained out. However, it worked out great, as we were able to meet a couple weeks ago for her session. The weather was perfect and we couldn’t have asked for a better evening. We shot on location in the Big Stone Gap area and captured some great shots. Katie, thanks again for booking your senior session with me. I had a wonderful time working with you and wish you the best of luck as you begin a new chapter in your life. A special thanks to your mom as well for helping me with the reflector. A good chance I’m going to hire her on as an assistant.

Lauren B. {L.A. Beach Shoot}

If you visit the blog frequently you’ll recognize Lauren right away. The two of us just shot back in December and have actually shot again since this shoot. You’ll be seeing more from that shoot soon. However, about a month ago I took my first trip out west to visit Los Angeles. I couldn’t have asked for a better host while I was there. Lauren welcomed me and made me feel right at home. The main reason for my trip was to shoot with Lauren and a few others, but she made sure that I had a great tour of the city and that I had some fun while I was there. I mean come on, there’s got to be a little play and not all work.

As always, Lauren rocked her shoot. Our goal was to shoot mainly swimsuit and a nice lifestyle look. Lauren was a real trooper when it came to being on the beach. We didn’t have the warmest of weather while shooting, but we pushed the cool air to the side for a bit and had a blast. It might have taken us a couple hours after to warm up, but it was definitely worth it. We were able to capture some amazing shots and had a beautiful sunset to go along with it.

Lauren, thanks again for all the hospitality while I was there visiting. I had an absolute wonderful time and so excited for my next trip. Check out Lauren’s website to view more images from this shoot along with images from our first shoot.

Whitney R. {2012 Senior}

What a pleasure it was to work with Whitney on her senior session. A couple of weeks ago Whitney and her mother came over from Kentucky for her shoot. We had beautiful weather and a perfect evening. Whitney and I connected within minutes and we captured some great shots. Whitney is a sweet young lady and I know she’s got so many great things in store for her future. Thanks again Whitney for allowing me to capture these special memories for you. I wish you the very best of luck as you’re about to begin a new chapter your in your life. Steffi M. {2012 Senior}

It’s been a pleasure getting to know Steffi over the past couple of years. She’s always wearing a smile on her face and has such an amazing personality. She’s one of those people who can cheer you up real quick by just being around her a few minutes. I was very excited when Steffi contacted me to book her senior session. Knowing what a sweet person she is I knew we’d have a lot of fun. A couple of weeks ago I met up with Steffi and her mom for her shoot. We shot on location in Big Stone Gap and Norton. At the end of her shoot we stopped by the Glass Slipper in Norton so Steffi could model a few outfits for advertisement. She was a natural when it came to this. We stepped outside the store and Steffi worked her magic as if she did this for a living.

Steffi, thanks again for a wonderful evening. Most importantly, thanks for an amazing friendship we’ve developed over the past few years. You’ve got a great head on your shoulders and have so much to look forward in your future. I wish you the best of luck as you get ready to begin a new chapter in your life.

Allyn Rose {Model Shoot}

I remember a few months ago getting a notification on twitter from Allyn that basically said, I love your work, would love to shoot sometime. Honestly, I really wasn’t for sure right away who she was until I started researching. Once I found out it was a no brainer, we must shoot haha. Allyn was 2011 Miss Maryland USA and is currently modeling for QVC. Allyn has also had the opportunity to model with Sherri Hill. It just so happened that I was headed to Washington DC soon after Allyn contacted me for some shoots. I was beyond excited that after contacting her that she would be able to shoot while I was there. A few weeks ago we met up on the campus of the University of Maryland on a beautiful evening.

I’ll be straight up honest with you, the morning of her shoot I was a nervous wreck. I knew in the back of my mind that I had big shoes to fill. Allyn has shot with some amazing photographers, including the master of lighting, Fadil from NYC. However, after meeting up with Allyn and her MUA Caitie the nerves quickly went away. Allyn is one of the sweetest young ladies you can meet and so down to earth. I felt that we connected within minutes after starting the shoot. Our goal was to capture some great commercial shots for her portfolio, and we certainly nailed it. Her beautiful personality shined throughout the shoot, and smile lit up the Maryland Campus. I couldn’t have asked for a better evening with some wonderful people.

Allyn, thanks again for one amazing shoot!! I had an incredible time with you and so excited about planning your next shoot in the near future down here in the south. I send blessings your way as you continue to go to the next level with your career. Caitie, thanks again for doing a spectacular job with makeup. It was a pleasure working with you and I look forward to doing so again in the future. Last but not least, thanks to Amanda Jones for her assistance on this shoot and for helping to calm my nerves before we began the shoot.

Norton, Virginia Modeling Workshop

Back in the summer of 2011 I was shooting in Charlottesville, VA with Amber Griggs. There had been a vision that I had for quite some time about doing a modeling workshop for young ladies to gain experience in modeling. I approached Amber about coming on board for this and she was definitely interested. After a couple months of planning, organizing, and researching we finally got this set up. A few weeks ago we had 10 young ladies come in for our first workshop and had an incredible time. Lora and Kristen Abate from Team Shear Obsession came on board with us to provide hair and make up, and the Glass Slipper also provided some of the wardrobe.

Over the course of the workshop Amber worked with the girls as I shot. All of these young ladies done a fabulous job and looked amazing. I was able to capture some awesome shots of each of them for their portfolios. It was exactly what I visioned and couldn’t have been happier with the results at the end of the weekend. Here’s just a few shots from the workshop. Amber and I are in the process of setting up another workshop in the Charlottesville area in the next couple of months. We’ll be announcing details on this workshop soon.
